Electricity

Electricity – the presence and flow of charged particles – allows us to turn on lights, charge our phones and read webpages, like this one. A reliable supply of electricity helps society to prosper, powering schools, hospitals and businesses. Electricity is the fastest-growing part of the energy system.

Electricity can be generated from a range of sources, from burning fuels to tapping into kinetic energy. Changing the mix can help reduce greenhouse gases and improve air quality.

Electricity from variable renewable sources, such as wind and solar, can be combined with the electricity produced by gas-fired power stations and nuclear power stations. This mix helps ensure a secure and stable supply to customers.

In many countries, trading firms buy and sell electricity through electricity markets. This can be done in several ways and on a short- or long-term basis.
Electricity is generated in power stations. It flows through large transmission lines, which carry it to substations. Finally, distribution lines carry electricity from substations to homes and businesses.
One way to help balance fluctuations in electricity supply and demand is through storage. This can be done using batteries

Petrochemical Products

A chemical obtained from the refining of fossil fuels and natural gases.
Petrochemicals are derived from various chemical compounds, mainly from hydrocarbons. These hydrocarbons are derived from crude oil and natural gas. Among the various fractions produced by distillation of crude oil, petroleum gases, naphtha, kerosene and gas oil are the main feed stocks for petrochemical industry. Ethane, propane and natural gas liquids obtained from natural gas are the other important feedstock used in the Petrochemicals industry. Petrochemical industry plays a vital role in economic growth and development of manufacturing sector. The value addition in the petrochemicals industry is higher than most of the other industry sectors.
Petrochemicals, in terms of volume, are a niche product within the oil industry. Whereas products like crude oil are shipped in large tanker vessels, refined petrochemicals are shipped in smaller containers. In domestic trading refined petrochemicals are shipped often by rail or road. tankers.
Storing product is important factor in any industry, and in the petrochemical industry products are generally stored in specialised tanks which very in strength and cost depending on the properties of the product. A storage tank is a container usually for holding liquids and sometimes for compressed gases (gas tank).
